Stepmothers in Love- Apr 27, 2003

Dialog recalled by Jay Cross 29 Apr 2003

Dottore: I have a great and epic marriage, like Agamemnon and Clitemnestra, Jason and Medea, or Oedipus and Jocasta!
Trincatella: Dottore, were any of those people happy?
Dottore: <pause> No
Trincatella: Well *you* could be! <kisses him> Oh! You just don't understand! <exits>
Dottore: <shaken by the kiss> I'm starting too!... Trincatella! <follows her off stage>.

Other notes by Jay Cross

My almost 7 year old daughter Piper said the four best moments of the play were:
1. When Aaron caught the dart on his head
2. When Flaminia and Orazio tried to change clothes [she didn't think the dress was made to fit Fritz]
3. When Dottore switched the paperwork on the bad guys
4. When the bad guys finally read the documents

Comments by Chris Shannon

I was very pleased with the performances and reception of this show. The troupe and audience make directing a show almost too easy. The abundant fight choreography went very smoothly, which is to say no one got hurt and it looked suitably zany. looking back on the comments, it was a pretty racy show.

Some Quotes:

Brighella: "For the first time ever, I used the truth against someone. Is that irony?"

Olivia: "Orazio was so wonderful. The way he kept rolling scudi up and down my back!"

Arlecchino, with aphrodisiac: "I got the little thingy to help you with your little thingy."

Orazio: "Arlecchino, you just change clothes with yourself... ...and you're done already!"

Trincatella: "You could let me oil the banister." later "All I'll get from him is splinters."

Gratiano: "When she said polish the banisters, what did _you_ think she meant?"

Pantalone, leering at Olivia: "I like the look of your clauses."
