I
recall that during casting, Alex Newman brought
a large liquid bribe, and said something like
"For the love of God, let me play Capitano
Spavento". He did, and he was great. Uttering
such lines as "My Dear, half of everything
you've heard about Spanish men is true of Spavento.
The other half is true only of Spavento".
The
Dramatis Personae is from a Scenario marked
'The Hidden Joys of Marriage' - Pennsic II
This
play was written by Katheryn Gandek-Tighe. It
was the first show not written by Jeff Hatalsky
or Flaminio Scala that we had done. Jeff was
very romantic and not inspired to write something
about women in faithless marriages to old men,
but that's what ICOD seemed to be calling for.
